Ed Walker is a nuclear and technology executive, author, and inventor with four decades of experience leading complex and first-of-a-kind initiatives. His career began in U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion and has spanned nuclear power, engineering, software, and financial technology.
At Invensys, Ed served as executive sponsor for Women in Nuclear, working with Sezin Uzman to develop the initiative’s charter and supporting her leadership. His approach extended to young engineers and students: backing their interests, creating opportunities, and helping them build confidence through practical experience.
During his Westinghouse years, Ed taught nuclear science to Scouts at Carnegie Mellon University and sponsored an aging-workforce study held there in 2006. At Invensys, he supported young engineers involved in Beantown Blitz, served as a competition judge, and separately sponsored computers and LEGO robotics kits for a school initiative. His later involvement included supporting STEM summer programming at McGuire Nuclear Station. These experiences help shape BYKES’ purpose: giving young people opportunities to discover what they can build and become.
